Tips and Wrinkles

Our members would like to share some of our Tips for successful sewing. We hope you find this section useful. None of these are paid advertisements, just places we have found in and around Devon or when on holiday in the UK.

TECHNIQUES

  • Smooth embroidery - to achieve a smooth finish when stranding your skein, remove one thread at a time, line up  and stroke/smooth your 2 or 3 strands, knot and embroider. This is particularly effective when executing satin stitches where you require the threads to lay as flat as possible.
